One of the most frequent causes of last-minute panic is being unable to find vital information when you need it. This happens when you don’t have a well-defined place to store it. The FOREVER® platform solves that problem . . . well . . . Forever. Here are some examples of how you can use FOREVER to organize and preserve what’s important in your life.

YOU CAN LOCATE VITAL INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTS.

How many times have you lost warranty information or an operating manual for equipment or appliances? There are so many types of information that should be easy to access, but when you need it, it’s gone missing. I’m convinced that file cabinets (physical or virtual) are the graveyards where essential information goes to die. Once I began to enjoy the benefits of having my photographs in one place, I recognized that FOREVER® was the ideal repository for vital information. As long as you have an Internet connection, you can find what you need, whether you are at home or abroad.

I started our “Family Vault” by storing recipes. Now, when I’m asked to share a recipe, I download it, and off it goes via email. When I have my annual physical, I download and print a copy of my prescription list so that I don’t have to fill out one of those irritating forms for the umpteenth time. When I’m ready to pack up for a photo job or vacation, it’s so handy to have a packing checklist to print out, and I'm all set with my camera manual if I need to look up something. Sure beats lugging around a 3-ring binder.

It's amazing how much peace of mind you get from keeping important information in one place! Best of all, my family members have access to critical legal documents, such as wills and advanced directives, that are important for them to understand.

YOU CAN ARCHIVE AND SHARE FAMILY GENEALOGY.

If you are researching your family’s genealogy, there’s no better place to preserve it than FOREVER.® Are you using an online genealogy resource or working with a professional genealogist? Either way, you need a permanent home for the family tree information, documents, and photos you have discovered. The FOREVER platform allows you to collaborate and share your research with others and pass on your findings to the next generation — legally and securely. Furthermore, you never have to worry that a stranger in an online group can “update” your family tree with incorrect information.

When you organize your family lineage by “generation,” using a new nested FOREVER Album for each era, you can preserve your genealogy back as far as your research will take you.

The FOREVER® Lightbox view allows you to show as much history as you wish. In the case of my paternal great-grandparents, Amos and Sarah Kendall, I am lucky to have a wealth of information.

I have chosen to organize my genealogy research in two albums for each ancestor, as shown at left. In the “Genealogy Information” album, I store the results discovered from online sources, which is just a starting place to hunt for verification. In the “Documentation” album, I place the public and private documents that validate the individual’s history as legitimately belonging in my family tree.

Note the number of individual documents shown in the album at left, below. When viewed together, they form a cross-check that proves the case for laying claim to this specific relative. Because this great-grandfather was married twice, I included information for the wife that was not in my direct-line ancestry in a nested album. Thus, readers can reference any questions about her easily.

The benefits of using the FOREVER® platform to organize and preserve family genealogy are huge:

  • It’s easy to show and tell! The Census page, shown above, resides alongside its transcription, making the document much easier to understand.
  • When all information and documents can reside in a single online album for each relative, it’s a load off your mind and a considerable reduction in household paper clutter.
  • If you are working with family members or a professional genealogist, it’s easy for all to share and contribute.
  • Anyone you designate can view your family story as it evolves.
  • If you wish, you can publish a family history book on the entire family or a single relative, directly through the FOREVER platform.
  • Best of all, your important work will live on after you’re gone, as you can designate a person or persons to retain and continue the work you have started.
